Firm History

In 1986 The Law Firm of John J. Fleming, Jr. came into being. John Fleming, known as Jock, moved to Colorado with his family from Virginia. He began his practice offering a broad range of legal services.

In 1995 the firm relocated to a new location where Jock practiced on a solo basis. In 1999 the practice grew when the firm added an associate.

In 2000 Michael C. Stern joined the practice and the firm became Fleming & Stern.

In 2003 the firm relocated back to where it started. Mr. Stern retired from the practice of law in 2008.

In October 2015, the firm merged with local attorney Daniel J. Lowenberg and became Fleming & Lowenberg.  Mr. Lowenberg has been practicing law on his own in the Montrose area since 2005, with an emphasis on bankruptcy and general civil matters.

Today the firm of Fleming & Lowenberg operates with Mr. Lowenberg, Mr. Fleming, two associate attorneys, and three support staff.
